By advocating for policies that strengthen afterschool programming and helping local programs build their capacity to provide high-quality activities and experiences to youth, the Iowa Afterschool Alliance supports afterschool programs at both a systemic and individual level.

Our Work

Youth Service Board

The Iowa Afterschool Alliance is actively seeking civic-minded youth to join our Youth Service Board (YSB)! At the Iowa Afterschool Alliance, our vision is clear: we strive to ensure that every child and youth in Iowa has access to high-quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities right in their own community. The Youth Service Board serves as the driving force behind our commitment to community change. Members identify an issue in their community they are passionate about and work on a volunteer project to address it. Projects will be focused planned around September 11th Day of Service. Application deadline: Friday, March 15, 2024.
