About us
The Iowa Afterschool Alliance and its work to improve access to high quality out-of-school time programming is supported by passionate staff, a dedicated leadership team, and generous partners.
About Us
The Iowa Afterschool Alliance was formally created in 2003 with primary support from a three-year grant by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. Since this time, the IAA has worked to promote afterschool as a solution to issues surrounding child care, workforce development, academic performance, and student behavior. We do this through developing partnerships and policy proposals, supporting local programs looking to improve their quality, and communicating critical data on the need and impact of afterschool programming.
Mission: Develop strong statewide systems of support for high-quality, affordable, and accessible before school, after school, and summer programs.
Vision: All Iowa children and youth will have access to quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities in their community.
