By advocating for policies that strengthen afterschool programming and helping local programs build their capacity to provide high-quality activities and experiences to youth, the Iowa Afterschool Alliance supports afterschool programs at both a systemic and individual level.
Our Work
Americorps
The Iowa Afterschool STEM AmeriCorps Program places members in afterschool programs across the state of Iowa. Members will utilize the Dimensions of Success program development tool to develop high quality lesson plans in STEM areas, integrate lesson plans into afterschool programming, conduct outreach to promote BIPOC youth participation and facilitate day-to-day STEM activities for youth to explore STEM learning.
